SPLAT’s Big Kid Camps are for children ages 4-7 and are designed to build independence in art making. These camps provide the opportunity for children to build their confidence and autonomy as artists with the support of skilled instructors.
These drop-off camps run every other Friday morning from 9-11 a.m. During our two-hour camps, children will have time to discover, create, and play while engaged in activities in our Creative Arts Play Center. Children will develop basic art making skills and gain exposure to art vocabulary through teacher-led, hands-on art lessons.
In an effort to cultivate positive, early art experiences, it is our goal to provide a nurturing, creative environment for our artists. Our staff recognizes that both the hands-on art skills we teach and the ability to work independently are emerging skills for these ages, so we are ready to tailor our instruction to each young artist’s skill level.
Note to Parents:
- A snack will be provided for your child by SPLAT. However, if your child has specific dietary concerns, it is the family’s responsibility to provide a snack for your child. If allergies are a concern, parents must clearly communicate these concerns, and any necessary precautions, to the teacher on the day of the camp.
- For safety purposes, we ask that children be dressed-for-a-mess and wear closed-toe shoes.
